About Me

My name is CaptainStrider. I'm just a guy living in Iowa seething about the state of things and trying to make the world a better place.

Interests

A lot of my interests include:

• Reading books, I'm especially fond of reading nonfiction, cultural critiques, and history books.
• Piracy: Downloading things gratis and spending my waking hours marveling at the cost savings I've made with this lifestyle change.
• Programming: I'm big on using Ruby currently. I'd eventually like to use Ruby on Rails for everything under the sun, including data analysis and general website construction.
• Rooning
• Gardening: One day I'd like to have a homestead so whenever I get the chance I like to go over to my landchad friend's house and help out with her garden plots.
• Recovering vidya addict: Used to be obsessed with collecting video games. I've quit collecting but I still emulate and play occasionally. Check out my blogpost about it.
