March Consoomer Report
Mar. 15 2026
Whew what a month. I haven’t really spent a whole lot since my last musing on finances. I don’t feel much different surprisingly. I mainly made a lot of purchases based off of stuff I’d see online or from browsing different things. Making online purchases was mostly a cope for myself for feeling bad or stressing about work. For example, I was thinking about buying a Sony CD player boombox because my current CD player skips audio sometimes. I ended up not doing it simply because I couldn’t justify it after a month of waiting on it. I think I’ll postpone most large purchase decisions for about or month or so to see if I really need it. Most of what I’m thinking about for the future is potentially getting a house at some point, so much of my financial energy has been going towards saving money up for that.
What have I been doing in my spare time while saving up all this money? Currently working on regaining my attention span and focus. I have been failing at that lately but I think I’m doing better than I have been this month. It’s very easy to fall into the trap of easy scrolling and visiting websites constantly. Especially when you spend a lot of time by yourself. Hopefully this means I can start focusing on bigger picture things and making sure that I’m working towards a future I want. Again, per my previous post, I haven’t been playing video games much since it dictated most of my earlier consumer spending. It pains me to think of how much I used to spending buying games and new consoles to play those games on. Luckily it’s in the past now so I can move forward and learn from that experience. I have been pondering making some Ebay sales to get rid of some of these excess items I’m no longer using. I have a fat PC gaming tower that needs to go at some point, though I’m not sure when. As well as some gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One that need to get out of my life.
I’ve got a bunch of smartphones that I need to sell as well, though that probably needs to be piecemeal so I don’t incur any regulatory issues from ze law. Surprisingly, a lot of crap piles up when you’re constantly getting new things for the dopamine hit. Only thing to do going forward now is to seriously consider what goes in and whether it’ll actually contribute anything to life or not.
